For the first time, ELSCAN is using two high-resolution cameras with 18 megapixels each. The ELSCAN OMS5 thus sets new standards in the world of web monitoring. The higher image quality is reflected in sharpness and color fidelity and enables a new view of print details on running webs.

DualView is a revolutionary recording method that offers enormous advantages through the parallel use of two cameras with different fields of view. In addition to the greatly increased image resolution (image quality), dualView offers almost delay-free zooming up to the highest magnification level. The digital zoom eliminates the need for motorized lens adjustment, which reduces the number of susceptible, frequently moving parts.

For the first time, OMS5 offers universal illumination for the most common materials in the label and packaging market. Whether paper or film, transparent or opaque, matt or reflective – the print details always come into their own. This is made possible by the innovative LED combination of diffuse light with sophisticated coaxial lighting. An all-round solution for the printing industry.

Reflective materials such as gold and silver applications (often cold/hot stamping foils) are a challenge for any camera. The homogeneous display of the foils without discoloring them to black is the special art in the label industry. This is where ELSCAN remains true to itself and offers the perfect solution with OMS5.

Thanks to the high image quality, minimal color deviations can be continuously detected across the entire job. In the complete repeat overview (digital repeat), each position can also be selected directly and quickly at the click of a mouse. Thanks to the extended position gallery, up to 21 positions can be saved and reproduced in a continuous loop. And this is just one part of the ELSCAN OMS5 add-on package.

Function

Sophisticated image processing, combined with two high-resolution cameras – this is what the ELSCAN web monitoring systems offer. They allow the display of printed images on moving webs with the greatest detail and color fidelity. The cameras can be moved manually or by a motor to adopt positions with the highest precision and display the corresponding images on the monitor.

All ELSCAN variants feature the patented "dualView" technology with its two cameras. Depending on the zoom level, either the telephoto camera or the wide-angle camera is activated. During zooming, the system switches unnoticeably between the cameras. As a result, print images can be displayed at many times their original resolution. This unique, patented "dualView" concept allows nearly lag-free zooming up to the highest resolution.

E+L web monitoring systems are primarily used on the following production systems: Label printing machines, offset printing machines, flexo printing machines, gravure printing machines, digital printing machines, rewinding machines, corrugated cardboard plants.
